On May 03, 2018, Ms. Teresita Galvez Alfonso of Hermosa, Bataan registered her business, Tess Enterprises with DTI through the assistance of Negosyo Center Hermosa.  With her sewing skills, ‘Tess’, as fondly called it, started the business with just a start-up capital of ₱220.00 and an old sewing machine.

A neophyte in the business industry, Tess was faced with various challenges including how to organize a business, what kinds of tools and equipment to use, and how to expand her market. With the help of DTI Negosyo Center Hermosa, Tess was able to establish the business through the learnings she has learned from the seminars, training, and consultations that the Negosyo Center conducted. Soon, she enrolled in the Kapatid Mentor Me (KMME) Program of DTI-Bataan. Through the business sessions of the program, she was able to learn how to reach out and make her products more accessible to clients.

Afterwhich, Tess also attended the different DTI – SME Roving Academy seminars conducted within the province. Tess Entreprises slowly started to grow with the assistance of the agency. Soon, she became an active participant-exhibitor in the Likha ng Central Luzon Trade Fairs.

Through the DTI programs, her sales increased by 100% and from an initial 1 employee, she was able to hire 4 more workers including 1 considered as PWD. Her label design also received a makeover under the OTOP NG program. These activities upped the status of Tess Enterprises, and soon Tess was able to expand the business.

According to Ms. Tess, the assistance given by the Negosyo Center made her realize how important it is to continue to grow and learn the processes of having quality products offered in the market. She is ever grateful for the DTI programs and vows to use them for the benefit of her business.
