Success Story: San Felipe Rural Improvement Club (San Felipe -RIC)

RIC San Felipe

San Felipe Rural Improvement Club (San Felipe -RIC), a group of women in Brgy. San Felipe, Tantangan, South Cotabato, is one of the recipients who had undergone Organizational and Product Development, Entrepreneurial seminars, and skills training from Negosyo Center and DTI South Cotabato. They were fully organized and established as an association in 2017.

The group started with 15 members and with a small amount of capital, they started manufacturing handmade slippers made of velvet cloth and rubber as their source of income. Through creativity, passion, dedication, and teamwork the association was able to establish a network and market for its products. They became an inspiration to their community, especially to other women in their barangay, to actively participate engage in income-generating activities.

The group did not stop improving their product. They continued to innovate and created a variety of designs from ordinary to more comfortable and fashionable slippers.

As of now, RIC-San Felipe has 29 eager and dynamic members with various interests and capabilities contributing to socio-economic activities in their barangay. They believe that when a woman works together as a group, wonderful things can be achieved.
