Mr. Mark Candidier’s first venture into wine production started as a hobby. He would bring them to parties, letting his friends try them for free. Overwhelmed by the responses of his friends to his wine, he decided to focus on winemaking where his first batch of customers were his friends and family.
He registered his business in 2017 through DTI Negosyo Center – Aleosan with a capital of P1,500.00 only. DTI’s continued assistance created a great impact in flaring his knowledge on marketing and production which led to the development of his own brand—Marcus, a line of wines using local resources such as Bignai, Lacatan, Mango, Katagpo, and Dragon Fruit. In 2018, he showcased his wines during the Kalivungan Festival held at Amas, Kidapawan City, and won the BEST PRODUCT AWARD.
The pandemic did not stop Mark’s pursuit of success in his business. Instead, he used the temporary closure of his business to further expand especially his source of raw materials for wine production to ensure adequate supply to serve the growing demand. He now owns a dragon fruit and Katagpo farm (family of berries) and has a showroom for his products at Aleosan, Public Market, San Mateo, Cotabato.
Now, Marcus Wines are being bought by various clients located around Cotabato Province District 1 (PPALMA) and Davao. Three main flavored wines—White Wine, Red Wine, and the Russi are also now available in the market.
