Salve Duplito is the founder and the president of Empower and Transform, a young company composed of a dynamic team that has the expertise and experience in using covid-induced massive movement of activities –- from education and entertainment to work and business –- for the advancement of financial education for Filipinos here and overseas.
Salve is also the resident Financial Adviser of On The Money, a personal finance show aired on the ABS-CBN News Channel, where she has a regular segment called “Salve Says.” She is also the Managing Producer and Head Writer of the said show. Salve shares personal finance tips and strategies and widens the discussion on financial consumer and investing issues that face viewers today. The show has won the Gawad Tanglaw Awards for Business Show Category thrice and the Dangal ng Bayan Awards twice.
As a financial literacy advocate, Salve has pushed for more than two decades for a cultural revolution on how people should handle their finances and use debt wisely. She is the media’s most prominent scam buster, setting aside concerns for personal safety to take on individuals that are defrauding the public. She is fearless even when going against big business, for the sake of the average consumer. Aside from writing for On The Money and her segments, she takes time to provide one-on-one mentoring to couples and individuals who would like to manage their personal finances better.
Before joining the media, Salve worked as a communications consultant and writer for organizations like the World Bank, the USAID, and the Asian Development Bank. She also worked for two decades as a financial journalist for publications like the Philippine Daily Inquirer, the Inquirer Interactive, and the Business World, winning prestigious awards for her articles like the Jaime V. Ongpin Awards for Investigative Journalism, EJAP/Metropacific Banking and Finance Reporter of the Year, and the Citibank Award for Excellence, among others.
