DR. LEO VICENTE A. TAGO has vast expertise in strategic management in higher education and SMEs. He has developed strategic directions for some educational institutions where he held a Vice President for Academics position before establishing St. Thomas More College in 2015. Dr. Tago also a business consultant, in the areas of Production and Organization, uses CEFE methodologies in conducting training interventions to strengthen the organization’s operations, thus, maximizing its resources, which will result in a higher efficiency level.
As a trainer, he has conducted various CEFE-based entrepreneurial training for nascent and established entrepreneurs that contributed to developing and enhancing their business operations. He has conducted training for the beneficiaries of various government agencies (DTI, OWWA, BOI, DOST) and non-government organizations.
Dr. Tago has been engaged in community development work as Community Development Officer of the defunct Ministry of Human Settlement. He was a Local Technical Specialist of WB-DBP funded project on the rehabilitation of Cooperatives affected by the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo. As an academician, he has lectured at local universities (HAU, AUF, UP-San Fernando, and UP-Subic) in Operations Management, Entrepreneurship, and Management Science. He has written papers on Problems and Prospects of the Onion Industry in Nueva Ecija and the Social Responsibility of Locators in Clark Economic Zone. The latter was presented at the International Kapampangan Conference in 1998. His latest study was on Culture, Innovation, and Firm Performance of Women Entrepreneurs from Diverse Ethnic Orientations. Dr. Tago was also a recipient of an international travel grant from The British Council to an international conference attended by selected participants from Asia and the United Kingdom.
Dr. Tago finished his BS in Industrial Engineering from Holy Angel University, Master of Management from the University of the Philippines-San Fernando Extension, and completed his Doctor of Philosophy in Management degree at the St. Louis University-Baguio City. Likewise, he has completed an Integrated Course on Higher Institution Management conducted by Ateneo de Manila University School of Government under the sponsorship of the Commission on Higher Education and an international course on Training of Trainers on Creation of Enterprises, Formation of Entrepreneurs (CEFE) conducted by Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) of the Federal Republic of Germany through the sponsorship from the Department of Trade and Industry.
