The Responsive & United Bayawan Believers for Economic Recovery Cooperative (RUBBERCO) operates as a rubber farmers’ cooperative which markets the rubber products produced by its 110 farmer-members and 200 small rubber farmers from the various municipalities of Negros Oriental. In the municipality of Bayawan alone, there are at least 750 hectares planted to rubber, with an estimated 200 hectares more from the other municipalities. At least 45% of the total number of hectarage planted to rubber is being tapped for NR latex and is further processed into rubber sheets. Rubber processing and Natural Rubber (NR) latex processing are jointly being undertaken by RUBBERCO, Inc., and the LGU of Bayawan.
